Who we are

GetFilmCraft operates getfilmcraft.org, an independent guide to the FilmCraft video editor. We publish English download guides, beginner tutorials, browser editing access information and comparisons with Adobe Premiere Pro. We are not the developer of FilmCraft and are not affiliated with ArtCraft or Adobe.

Information we process

• Browsing and technical information: our hosting infrastructure processes requests, IP addresses, browser information and security logs to deliver pages and protect the site.
• Preferences and usage information: cookies and browser storage may remember language, appearance, login status and referral information. When usage measurement is active, event records can include pages visited, referral sources, campaign tags, approximate country and a visitor identifier.
• Messages you send: if you email us or submit a support request, we process your contact details, message and attachments to respond. Please omit passwords, payment details and confidential project files.
• Account information: if you use an account feature, we process the details you provide and session information needed to authenticate you. Reading the public guides does not require an account.

Editing media and external software

Reading our guides does not require uploading your footage. Download links lead to software distributors; online editing links may open another website or an embedded editor. The editor's hosting address, privacy notice and software behavior determine how it handles media, project files and browser storage. Do not assume that a third-party editor follows this website's policy.

We do not need your video footage to answer a download or tutorial question. Check where you are uploading a file before sharing it, and keep your own project backups.

How we use information

We use information to deliver and secure the website, maintain preferences and accounts, answer support requests, diagnose broken links and improve our guides. Where applicable, we rely on providing requested services, legitimate interests in operating and protecting the site, consent for optional processing, or legal obligations.

Cookies and analytics

The site uses cookies or browser storage for features such as preferences, sessions and referral attribution. If optional analytics or advertising integrations are enabled, those providers may process additional usage information under their privacy notices. You can manage cookies and stored site data in your browser; blocking them may affect some features. Contact us for information about integrations currently in use.

Service providers and third parties

Cloudflare provides the hosting and D1 database infrastructure used by this project. Providers involved in hosting, communications, authentication or enabled analytics receive information needed for those services. We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information when required by law or necessary to address abuse or protect rights.

External sites, including ArtCraft, GitHub and Adobe, have their own privacy policies. Following a link or loading an embedded service can send your browser information to its operator. Our policy covers GetFilmCraft's website operations, not those independent services.

Retention and security

We keep information for the time needed to provide the relevant feature, resolve support issues, protect the service and meet legal obligations. Retention depends on the type of information and purpose; we do not promise one fixed deletion period for all records. We use reasonable safeguards, but no online service can guarantee complete security. Service providers may process information outside your country, subject to applicable transfer requirements.

Your choices and rights

You can clear browser storage, restrict cookies and avoid optional account features. Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion or a copy of personal information, object to processing, or withdraw consent. Email support@getfilmcraft.org; we may need to verify your identity. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children and changes

This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the age requiring parental consent under applicable law. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information. We will update this notice when our practices change; the revision date appears above.
